Tesagan Gin Je · 20–28 October 2026
A Taoist festival of purity, yellow flags, extraordinary street food, and — in Phuket — some of the most intense ritual processions in Asia.
The Vegetarian Festival (Tesagan Gin Je) is a Taoist Chinese tradition observed across Thailand from 20–28 October 2026. For nine days, devoted practitioners wear white, abstain from meat, alcohol, and sensual pleasure, and accumulate spiritual merit. It honours the Nine Emperor Gods.
